Can anyone buy wines from this website?
Only registered clients of DvF Wine Distributors (Pty) Ltd. with a valid liquor license may purchase on the site. Our clients have been issued with usernames and passwords to do so. If you are a registered client and have not yet received a username and password and would like to order online please contact email@example.com to arrange one. If you are a restaurant, hotel or liquor store and you are not yet a valued client, please contact us to arrange for a trade application and schedule an appointment. If you are a private client, contact us via phone or email for stock availability in your area.
Can a client have multiple logins?
Clients are limited to a single set of login details for purchasing (username and password) which should reside with the purchasing manager or person who does ordering. This detail also gives you access to our client portal for payments, statement information and more. Please consider keeping the login information securely with those who have purchasing authority. Anyone may browse the information and access the technical details of the wine without a valid login.
I’ve ordered wines, when can I expect delivery?
Trade clients centrally located in Gauteng who order prior to 13h00 will receive their order the following business day. Scheduled weekly deliveries occur to more remote Gauteng regions like Hartebeesport, Magaliesburg and Vanderbijlpark. Courier service is offered to more remote regions. Clients can also collect by appointment from our warehousing facilities in Midrand. On processing your order on our side administratively, you will receive a formal invoice which confirms delivery date.
When a quantity is displayed is this available?
Yes. Our system is live, linked to our accounting system and transparent. Our goal is to give our valued clients tools to manage their accounts with us and make ordering easier. We endeavor to keep adequate par levels especially on fast moving items. As we work with premium wines, a number are in limited supply.
Can I order something with a stock level of 0?
Yes. We will put the item on backorder for you and phone to follow up as soon as stocks are received. We aim to remove items that have reached zero and are no longer available and apologise if your fingers are just a little bit faster than ours.
Stock ordered doesn’t match stock delivered, what do I do?
Contact us immediately. If the error is on our side we will rectify the situation as quickly as possible at no cost to our clients. If the error is in client ordering, we charge a re-stocking fee of R10 per bottle and will be happy to issue the appropriate credit notes and re-invoice the correct stock.
I am looking for a wine by one of your producers not listed on the website, what do I do?
Contact us and we will let you know regarding availability. Some of the wines with tiny allocations or limited availability are not available online due to volume considerations.
As a client can I purchase on account?
Yes, subject to the same terms and considerations as your existing account on our system. If you are a COD client, we will require payment of your invoice prior to delivery. All wines remain the property of DvF Wine Distributors (Pty) Ltd. until payment has been received in full.
What do I do with a faulty bottle of wine?
Faults are rare. The first thing to do is contact us immediately whether by email, SMS, WhatsApp, etc. with a photograph of the bottle and closure including the markings on the cork and a detailed description of the fault. We will make an arrangement to collect the bottle within 24 hours. Most of our South African producers whose wines are under natural cork will be happy to replace a faulty bottle. Bottles under screw cap, DIAM or other closures have far fewer potential faults and are handled on a case by case basis.
Can I still place my orders via email?
You are welcome to place orders in the most convenient way for you. Whether ordering online, via email communications with our team or WhatsApp with your primary contact or the old-fashioned fax machine (which actually comes to our inbox) at 086 611 6749 we’re happy to be of service.
How can I become a client?
Please contact us in order to complete the relevant paperwork or download the trade credit application document here. We’ll also need a copy of your liquor license, VAT certificate and director(s) ID documents as detailed on the form.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, our minimum order is 12 bottles. That can be a combination of cases for example 2 x 6 bottle cases = 12 bottles. Most of our wines are stocked in 6 bottle cases. A few are in 12 bottle cases. This is noted in the product information for each wine. We do not break cases. Most magnums are available as individual bottles as are our international offerings.
Can I order partial cases?
We only supply the South African producers offering in full bottle cases. Most are packaged in 6 bottle cases. This is noted in the product information details and as such must be ordered in multiples of 6 or 12 bottles as packaged.
I don’t see the internationals offering on the web site how do I order?
Please contact us for an updated list of available international wines. Please remember when ordering that all international wines must be fully paid for in advance before shipping from our warehouse or the Cape warehouse where many of them are stored. Some wines are only imported once annually and thus difficult to provide continuity of supply with. For ongoing needs kindly schedule an appointment with Debi.
